Questions about braces & aligners
Braces or clear aligners: which is better?
Both can work well. Aligners are removable and less visible, but need discipline to wear. Braces suit more complex tooth movements. We recommend the option that fits your case.
How long does orthodontic treatment take?
It depends on the case, but treatment commonly runs from about a year to a couple of years. We give you an estimate once we have examined you.
Is there an age limit for braces?
No. Children and adults can both have orthodontic treatment as long as the teeth and gums are healthy.
Do I need to wear a retainer?
Yes. Teeth tend to move back without one, so retainers are an important final step.
This page gives general information. Every mouth is different, so the right treatment and timeline depend on your examination.
